The initial brief of the project was to provide for a receiving office for a property developer firm. Since the project portfolio consisted of farm lands, the background to the said office was excellent in terms of the proximity of nature and presence of full-grown trees and it was hard to resist propose something iconic.

Two containers of 40 feet length converge in a very gentle angle while separated with an acrylic volume. The angle incorporated invites the landscape as part of the view in a much more natural sense than being in a right-angled configuration would have been. Water was released from the top of the acrylic volume which washes the three faces and aids in cooling the heated conditions which arise because of heated metal. The window proportions offer a majestic aperture compared to the relative height of the containers volume which are further graced by the vertical network of wooden cladded metal frames.

The foreground to the spaces would not have been complete without the large wooden deck with its wide steps leading to it. The steps themselves have been used as part of the furniture given the generous width and ease of accommodating comfortable ground cushions when holding a gathering.

The said space hosted an Art Residency called ‘weave9’ which involved more than 12 national & international artists from a wide selection of fields, such as, sound design, projection mapping, clay sculptors and animators, writers, etc. The 3-acre plot to the project also offered a spill over with the landscape execution beginning in the early phases of the development.

A sunken portion in the green areas provided a warm enclosure of earthen walls with the fire place in the center, the slight sunken gesture also slowed down the relative winds when lighting a fire in stubborn winds.

The interiors are a pristine white envelope seen against the corrugated edges with a horizontal division in the center; the slit in the paneling provides the right ambient light for a discussion along with the hanging task lights.
