This first home of a family is nestled in the green edges of the National Capital Region and the 1400 sqyd plot has the right number of bordering trees isolating it as an ideal orientation for a home. The residence is spread around 8000 sqft over 2 floors with the footprint resembles a spread U shape which makes the left and right wings of the house open up to the green space in between.

The Vaastu concerns define the entrance of the house and the sleeping orientation of the beds while the rest of the design responds to the general desired flow required for the resident movement paths. This allows the front elevation to portray a very neutral monolithic stance. Apart from a vertical slit and the indication of a door and a window above the walls remain solid. The angles used in the left wing create a sense of mystery to the visitor until they’re in the drawing room where the windows open up to the green space between with its tropical and desert inspired and indigenous selection of trees, plants and shrubs.

The interiors show themselves as a warm minimalistic invitation, the walls are applied with lime mortar while the common spaces of the home use a micro-concrete floor. This combination breaks the coldness of minimalist spaces giving the home a lived-in feeling. The material palette allows the art work to shine, the color sparingly used is highlighted even more and appropriately so with the neutral background tones.

The kitchen occupies the right wing of the house with the swimming pool porch serving both as an open dining space and the spill over for the pool. An open spill over is defined by a wooden deck overlooking the mounds developed while the walking path disappears behind only to emerge after. More than a dozen rocks have been sprinkled across the landscape and the mounds to make the landscape feel as close to a natural disposition as possible.
