The terrace design seeks to compliment ornament in a background of minimalism and appropriately so, since much of the attention which deserves to be bestowed on the workmanship of ornament itself and one of the best ways is to give it an appropriate background.
One of the details which has proved its value in terms of function, aesthetic and spatial sense is the insignificant curve at the skirting. Instead of a right-angled junction the gentle curve gives the space a very approachable and warm aura. The softness of the space cannot have been achieved without an intent to light in the project’s early conceptual stage. The lighting design, you see here dear viewer & traveler of the Internet, has been built in from the very initial part of the process.
One could say that the attention to detail helped us realize that a combination of architecture & interior design skill understood together has been a pivotal factor.
The decision to elevate two portions of the terrace has been very well received in terms of giving a certain sense of flow and the selection of the micro-cement floor helps to blend them even better. Ergonomically as well they work very when one sits on the floor with or without an earth colored motif covered tribal rug.
The screens at the entrance of the terrace which is right opposite the main penthouse door is made with wooden squares connected with a fine network of metal rods behind. This foreground gives the white handmade hieroglyphic stamped mosaic stand out even better. The serving counter is right next to the said mosaic and gives the basic symbology stand out as ornament. The wall on which the projector is focused holds a larger band of finely cut mosaic portraying early man cave painting symbology.
The stand-alone stone washbasin gives off the right sculptural signature which the trellis holding the grape creepers in its interconnected web compliments the vines well.
