The iPlanted group is a non-profit organization focused on creating urban forests. The interior design has a minimalistic approach with a few highlights of texture and form. The natural green tone of the paneling boards has been polished with a natural tone and maintained as a theme in the space. This in turn goes well with the mild grey micro concrete floor and a small batch of an exposed brick wall patch. The said patch was an existing feature and the rustic background has not been entirely hidden. Even the concrete roof is exposed in most portions while the false ceiling occupies the rest.
The spatial planning used the multifunctional use of the workstation desks as discussion spots in the central portion of the circulation flowchart. The pantry conveniently adjoins the reception space and the service balcony for a smooth service workflow. One of the cabins which adjoins the balcony side has greenery to look out to, there is a very prominent Neem tree along a line of Ashoka trees which provides much needed shade towards the hot summer evening sun.
The micro-concrete floor has been extended on the table surface which gives an integrated appreciation of the material palette used. The hanging task lights are clean rectangular volumes cladded with copper colored mirror in contrast with the rustic natural shades.
The reception table has been fashioned from white acrylic surfaces which have been bent at the edges giving it a softer character and minimizing any intimidating connotation attached to the reception nature of space in an office facility. The industrial manufactured white is the right contrast against the floor as per the desired intent of the selected material palette. Another material which holds the background to the reception space is the strand board which with its fiber’s provides the right ecological footprint which the organization wants to associate itself with.
